What is Making Music Praying Twice?
Making Music Praying Twice is a fun,
unique music and movement class for children ages 0-5 with a caregiver
that combines music education with faith. The program is specifically
designed for the Catholic child, and explores the Liturgical and natural
seasons in an age-appropriate way. Making Music Praying Twice uses
classic children's music in addition to Catholic hymns, Gregorian chant,
spirituals and folk songs to enrich a child's mind and soul.
Making Music Praying Twice is based on
the same early childhood education and brain research as other secular
music programs, but this program is "faith-inclusive," integrating music
education with religion, helping our youngest children build foundations
in their faith while gaining the tools they need for future music
skills. The curriculum is carefully chosen to enhance music aptitude and
attitude in growing brains, while remaining sensitive to maturing souls.
Parents and children use instruments, toys and scarves to dance, chant,
sing, play games and pray together.
