HOLY LAND TRIP MARCH 4 – 12, 2010

Thanks to Santa’s elves (Chris Baculis; her daughter, Beth and her friend, Joe; and Madge and Steve Dragon), there were 262 packages sorted, counted, bagged and delivered to the Ozanam Inn in New Brunswick, on Sunday, December the 20th.  Also thanks to Cheryl Gatti and Madge for getting all those tags on the tree!   St. Mary’s parishioners are still sharing after 27 years!!

ST. MARY’S-STONY HILL "DANCING WITH THE STARS"- FEBRUARY 5, 2010
Please join us for a festive evening of Fellowship, Dinner and Dancing at our 9th Annual Dinner Dance, on Friday, February 5, at 7:00pm, at The Primavera Regency.   This year we are honoring Jack and Rose Marie Valente for their dedicated service to our parish community. OPEN HOUSE - St. Vincent de Paul School
Registration for the 2010 – 2011 School Year
January 14th - Parents are invited to the St. Vincent de Paul School Library on January 14th from 7:30 pm – 9:00 pm for an opportunity to meet with Faculty and school parents to learn about the school.   Registration packets will be provided at that time.  

January 15th - Open House and Registration will be held on Friday, January 15th from 9:00 am – 2:00 pm.  Tours of the school will be provided throughout the day.

St. Vincent de Paul Parish – Annual March for Life Bus Trip to Washington – Friday, January 22
We would like to fill our bus for our annual March for Life in Washington, D.C.  To reserve the bus, we need to know how many will be attending NOW.

2009 Bishop’s Annual Appeal - Because We Are Church  
Our goal is to have 100% participation in the 2009 Bishop’s annual Appeal.  Please prayerfully consider supporting the Annual Appeal with a pledge or one-time gift as your means allow.  Your support is greatly appreciated.  

To date the Development Department has received pledges totaling: $126,261.18 and payments totaling $117,414.97 from 190 parishioners.  This represents 103.0% of our $122,600.00 goal. Thank you for your efforts    


IN AND AROUND THE DIOCESE OF METUCHEN  
-       Mass for Racial Harmony:  The Diocese of Metuchen will celebrate a Mass for Racial Harmony on Sunday, January at 12 noon, in St. Francis of Assisi Cathedral.  Bishop Emeritus Edward T. Hughes will be the principal celebrant at the Mass and Bishop Martin Holley of the Archdiocese of Washington will be the guest homilist.  

-       From the Office for Catechesis: The Benedictine Center invites you to Thomas Merton: A Voice Crying Out on Saturday, January 30, from 9am-3:30pm.  Open to all.  (Weekend retreat on January 29-31 for women only.), at St. Walburga Monastery, Elizabeth, NJ.  Cost is $30 for Saturday with lunch included, and $125 for the weekend.  Please call 908-353-3028 to register.  

-       Bible Study for Maturing Catholics (55+):  You are invited to attend the newly formed Bible Study Series geared just for Maturing Catholics.  Wednesday, January 27 – March 17, from 10:30am - 12:30pm., at St. John Neumann Pastoral Center.  The presenter is Winnie Klimek.  There will be 8 sessions at $5 per person.

SINGERS SOUGHT FOR A MARCH 7, 2010 CONCERT IN REMEMBRANCE OF DECEASED PRIESTS
The Diocesan Festival Choir invites high school and adult singers from all parishes to join us for a March 7, performance at St. Francis Cathedral of the Rutter Requiem accompanied by chamber orchestra, in remembrance of deceased priests of the Diocese of Metuchen.  The concert is offered as part of the Year for Priests proclaimed by His Holiness, Pope Benedict.    Please see
