TOY COLLECTION – ST ANN’S SOUP KITCHEN
The toy collection for the Holiday Party at St. Ann’s Soup Kitchen is now underway.  

New, unwrapped toys may be dropped off at the Parish Center up to December 18th.  Thank You!      


RELIGIOUS EDUCATION
MISSION BOXES: The children in our religious education program have been given Mission Boxes  

Please encourage your child to do extra chores around the house to earn money to put in their mission box which will be distributed through the Holy Childhood Association to benefit children living in poverty.  The boxes are due back by December 21.

OZANAM INN – CHRISTMAS PROJECT
Please remember to take a tag from the Christmas tree found in the Narthex and replace it with an ornament to decorate the tree.  Buy the gift you have chosen, wrap it and put the tag on it; put it under the tree by noon on Sunday, December 20.    We thank you for your support at this busy time of year!

Come to the Stable Day: Prayerful preparation for Christmas!  An annual tradition includes prayer, blessing of the Christmas tree, community, and refreshments.  Join us on Sunday, December 20, from 2:00-4:00pm.  
Year-End Day Of Prayer: A personal quiet day to reflect on the past year.  Day begins with communal prayer, on Thursday, December 31, from 9:30 am – 3:00pm.  Bring bag lunch ($20).

Ministering to those experiencing pain, confusion and fear and those preparing for death is the role of the clergy assigned to Hospital Ministry.  They respond to calls at every hour of the day and night providing sacramental and pastoral presence in hospitals and health care facilities throughout the diocese.  

Your gift to the Bishop’s annual Appeal helps to support this important pastoral ministry.    

YEAR END GIVING – IRA Rollover Extended to 12/31/09
If you are 70 ˝ years of age or older, you may directly transfer up to $100,000 TAX-FREE (Federal Tax) to a qualified charity.  St. Mary's-Stony Hill Parish, a parish school, Catholic Charities and the Diocese of Metuchen are qualified charities.   

These charitable donations count toward your required annual minimum withdrawal.  This distribution neither generates taxable income nor a tax deduction – so this may also benefit non-itemizers.  Your IRA manager may charge a small fee for the transfer.      


DIOCESE OF METUCHEN CATHEDRAL CONCERT
Celebrate the season with Thomas DeLessio, the Director of Music at St. Francis Cathedral, on Sunday, December 20 @ 5:00 p.m., at St. Francis Cathedral, in Metuchen.  

Featuring the Cathedral adult, youth, hand bell and children’s choirs, this concert will offer a spiritual evening to all who seek a moment of serenity amidst the bustle of the season.  

No tickets required, but an offering will be taken for Cathedral Music Ministry.  Please come celebrate with us!
